Effective 7 September 2026. The short version: there is no account, your taper never leaves your own devices and your own iCloud, and the only thing we can ever receive is an optional set of anonymous counts you can switch off.
Stop SSRI is made by 9566-4819 Quebec inc., 684B Rue Richelieu, Quebec, QC G1R 1K5, Canada (info@huahuahua.io, +1 418 999-7110). We are the controller of the anonymous statistics described below. We are not a healthcare provider, and Stop SSRI is not a medical device.
Everything you enter or record: the medication name, concentration, doses, dates, the schedule, holds and plan changes, daily scores, symptom tags, and any note you type. It is stored in the app's own database on your iPhone.
If you are signed in to iCloud, that database syncs through your private CloudKit database, which belongs to your Apple Account. We have no access to it, cannot read it, and it is not transmitted to us. It is subject to Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the app does not delete it; Settings → Delete everything inside the app does.
Almost nothing is known about how people actually come off these medications. If you agree — you are asked once during setup, and the switch is in Settings — the app sends a small number of anonymous events to a database we run on Supabase. Each event carries a random install identifier, the event name, a few coarse properties, the app version and your App Store country. Nothing in it identifies you.
| Event | What it contains |
|---|---|
| plan_created | reduction %, interval in days, final dose as a % of the start, form (liquid/tablet), medication class from a fixed list, step count, measuring mode, step rule, medication family from a fixed list |
| step_reached | step number, step count |
| hold_applied / rate_slowed / stepped_back | step number, days or percentages |
| checkin | step number, day in step, 1–5 score, symptom tags from a fixed list |
| plan_completed | step count, weeks, number of holds |
| profile | age band, years-on-medication band, previous-attempts band, whether a prescriber is following — each optional |
| opt_out | the install identifier, so its rows can be deleted |
Never sent: a dose in milligrams, a date, the medication's name as you typed it, a note, your name, email, location, or any advertising identifier. Country comes from the App Store storefront, not from GPS.
The database accepts inserts only; the app cannot read anything back. Rows are kept for research on how tapers go and to improve the app, and are not sold or shared. Turning the switch off sends opt_out, and we delete every row carrying that identifier. The identifier is regenerated if you delete your data.
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we receive no name, card or address. Restoring a purchase is done through Apple as well. The free hardship unlock is a flag stored on your device and is not reported to anyone.
Reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. No notification content is sent to us or to any server.
There is no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK from a third party, no attribution, and no data broker. The app makes network requests to exactly two places: Apple (iCloud and the App Store) and, if you have agreed, our Supabase database for the events above.
Stop SSRI is rated 17+ and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them; there is nothing personal to collect.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or export. You can delete your own data at any time (Settings → Delete everything) and withdraw consent to statistics with one switch. Residents of Quebec have the rights set out in the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector; residents of the EU and UK have the rights set out in the GDPR. Our person in charge of personal information is reachable at info@huahuahua.io.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and a material change to what is collected will be presented in the app before anything new is sent.
